You may wish to adjust a character's skill set and point distribution as they progress in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Thankfully, there's a respec option in the game that lets you do just that.
It's possible you'll wish to change your Diablo 2: Resurrected character's stats for a variety of reasons. This character you've created may have slain enemies on Normal and Nightmare, but they're no match for the challenges of Hell. Alternatively, you may have unearthed a powerful D2R item for sale that places extra emphasis on a talent in which you have not invested any points. If done right, a respec can transform a weak character into a killing machine. However, you should be aware that your options for changing your character's specialization are restricted in Diablo 2: Resurrection.
The simple approach
In Diablo 2: Resurrection, you are essentially granted three different character respecs, one for each difficulty level. After you've finished the Act 1 quest "Den of Evil," you can return to Akara in the Rogue Encampment and she'll let you respec. The good news is that you don't have to use it on that playthrough; if you decide to play on Nightmare or Hell difficulty instead, you can always return to Normal difficulty and utilize the respec for free. If you choose to respec your character with Akara, you will be able to redistribute your skill and stat points.
"the hard way"
Your character can still be respecced in Diablo 2: Resurrected after you've used up your three free respecs, but you'll have to earn it. In addition, you'll need to have beaten the game on the hardest possible setting. In order to make a Token of Absolution, you must collect four essences scattered over the game and combine them using the Horadric cube. With the token's help, you can get your previously allocated stat and skill points back. You must vanquish Andariel or Duriel to obtain the warped essence of suffering; Mephisto to obtain the charged essence of hatred; Diablo to obtain the burning essence of terror; and Baal to obtain the putrid essence of destruction. Keep in mind that not all enemies will consistently drop them upon defeat.
